HVO is a sustainable alternative to diesel. It is fossil-free and saves up to 90% CO2 compared to diesel. HVO stands for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil. It is made from vegetable waste and waste oils and fats, such as used frying fat. It is then processed using hydrogen (hydrotreated) to make it suitable as a fuel. This creates a product that, in terms of its composition, is very similar to diesel, but without using fossil-based raw materials. HVO is available in various blends, but at Rolande we only offer the fully fossil-free variant HVO100.
