Rolande brings Bio-LNG and Electric Charging together in Tilburg

With the commissioning of electric charging facilities in Tilburg, Rolande is taking the next step in decarbonizing heavy road transport. At its location on Schepersvenweg in Berkel-Enschot, Bio-LNG and electric charging are now available together at a single site for the first time.

This enables Rolande to offer transport operators and shippers two proven solutions to reduce their CO₂ emissions today, not as a vision for the future, but as practical solutions that are available and ready to use now.

Sustainable transport requires multiple solutions

There is no single path in the transport energy transition. The most suitable solution depends on factors such as vehicle usage, distance, payload requirements, and operational demands.

“The decarbonization of heavy transport does not require one solution, but a mix of solutions that work in practice,” says Jolon van der Schuit, CEO of Rolande. “With this expansion in Tilburg, we demonstrate how Bio-LNG and electric charging can complement each other. For some applications, electrification is the logical next step, while Bio-LNG already offers a practical and immediately available route to significant CO₂ reduction for many heavy-duty and long-haul operations.”

Four fast chargers, ready for future expansion

The site features four charging points, each with a capacity of up to 375 kW, enabling transport operators to charge their electric vehicles quickly and efficiently.

The location has also been designed with future growth in mind. The necessary cabling, grid connection capacity, and infrastructure have already been installed, allowing the number of charging points to be expanded to eight in the future.

With Tilburg, Rolande demonstrates what the future of sustainable heavy road transport can look like: a single location where multiple sustainable energy carriers come together, allowing transport operators to choose the solution that best fits their operations.

The addition of electric charging complements Rolande’s existing role as a partner in sustainable heavy road transport. Alongside CO₂ reduction, reliability, availability, and a healthy Total Cost of Ownership remain key priorities.
